What attracted attention: it appeared directly in view of the valley, How it disappeared: steadily disapeared in to the distance How did you feel?: purplexed/ frustrated More Info: being the very day the shuttle took off I thought it could be that. It was just so big I saw a shuttle pass in the early eighties and it appeared with a satelite. Im sure it was of a natural or terestrial nature. I remain sceptical about extra terestrial nature. The vapour trail would suggest a fuel propelant or ice. It was frustrating not knowing what it was. Binoculars added no futher detail. |

Observed a bright white light rising vertically at fast rate of speed west of the overpass. Watched light rising then blinked out suddenly, no futher seen. Approx 5min later Identical light from similar location, same behariour, Origionaly thought it was rescue one helicopter with "night sun" light activated moving towards murry bridge however it did not continue towards us but continued straight up until it blinked out. |

More Info: First noticed the light come over the horizon, it appeared to be moving in our direction. After watching it it became apparent that it was not approching us but traveling straight up in to the air. After moving upwards for about 20 sec the light dissapeared. About 5 min later in the same position on the horizon this light also dissapeared in the same spot. |

Large of a silver metal pipeline. Duration 1-2 sec then object either dissapeared or moved east at incredible speed. No comercial air routes in this diraction I umpited fin jet engine noise or realliance but was not noted. |

Even though I felt relaxed I did not attempt to lift the blind of run outside to check, I wish I had. It sounded still when I first heard it then the noise drifed as if with movement. |

What attracted attention: I was looking at the stars having coffe when I saw the bright star move it was unusal no other stars were so I got the binocular, How it disappeared: I was watching it with binoculars and sometimes it flashed red light more than others and it just seemed to be going futher away How did you feel?: Excited More Info: I thought when I was just looking at the star what a lovely bright star but when it moved I was quite surprised it went. I was quite overwhelmed when I saw through the binocolars the flashing red light and green light. I woke my husband too, and he was surprised He said the atmosphere can make the stars look diferent colours but I looked at the other stars and they wern't coloured. I watched it for about 15-20min and it seemed to be going away getting futher away in the end it was just a white light. The next day I couldn’t think of anything else, Mabye wasn't a UFO, I like to think it was , It seems like a no win situation because I may never see this again. And I can't show anyone else what I saw. |

Then a bright light came shining through the windows of the bedroom and hallway doors windows. The noise was stationary over the house for a few seconds then the light and sound moved over away from the house. The noise dissapeared with no fading that would have been expected. |

Once again silent and approx same speed. These sightings were not related to aircraft as quite often see planes at the time between Adelaide and Melbourne with flashlights in red and green white. I havent heard of other sightings in this area. |

What attracted attention: thought it was a jet, How it disappeared: When sun rose it blocked our view How did you feel?: curious More Info: I was driving when I first saw the object, When I realised it was not a jet I pulled to the side of the road to observe it waiting for it to move to set my mind to rest that it was a plane and the tail was its stream, but it didn't. When I arrived at my mothers hame on the other side of Monash 3km away I tolt her to come outside to look she agreed it was not a jet when the sun had fully risen the object was no longer visible. I did have a similar sighting about 18 months ago from Monash but into the sun set, same type of object, same metalic look. |

What attracted attention: bright white flashing light, How it disappeared: (1) turned dull red sausage shape (2) did not dissapear How did you feel?: excited More Info: In the first sighting it was a bright flashing light too mabye three times brighter than the brightest star nearby - it flashed every 15 - 16 sec and did not move, sometimes the light would dim to a dull red then return to the origional brightness. In the second sighting it was stationary then slowly over a 15-20min time frame it moved to the right and stopped just under the spot where I first saw it and there it stayed for the next 15 min. until I stopped watching it. It was NOT a balloon, helicopter, satelite or an aircraft way too high for a baloon and satelites and aircrafts move. |

More Info: (1) 5 silver lights together flickering back and forth, then went out - The lights were in an area of about half arms lengh. (2) one large silver glow size of a basket ball. Went dull then headed south at a medium pace while this was happening - they tried to radio back at Alice springs but could not at this time. Usually the police car radio works well from this spot at night, But not when this object was there. |

More Info: (1) First sighting was a diffuse dull light within dense low clouds. The light appeared to move in a zig zag fashion through a small half km. Range followed by a larger (5km) range. (2) second sighting was of 2 brighter lights that moved very quickly from east to west. (belair hils, over airport,out to sea,and return). Thelights were below the dense low clouds, perhaps 1 min after the fist sighting above. The figure 2 lights did not keep a regular distance appart but were never more then half a km appart. But some times were ver close. |

What attracted attention: when I drove out of work it was in my line of view, How it disappeared: Didn't see How did you feel?: startled and frightened More Info: Initially thought it was a helicopter but considering it was so close and bright there was no chopper noise evident. Couldn't make out shape only lights visable beam of light was continous. Also moving very eratically and quickly and at sharp angles White light when moving towards me and when it changed direction other lights were visable at various intervals. Stood watching it for a long time then went inside to call airports but no answer when I came out it had gone Next morning called police comunications and they said they said there may have not been a police chopper in the air around the time I described so this may be what it was. |

I also changed colour to dark grey. It then changed back to red. Moved east (after hovering around for a minuite). Then positoned itself. When I ran to get my camera the object had dissapeared . No-where to be seen in clear sky. |

Several of us had heard the noises we've seen the lights once during this time. Our dog been scared Also our power in the house had gone down and the battery in the clock had gone flat but it started working again. There were thumping noises inside the house and squeking noises also. These noises were so loud my friend heard them on the phone. When we inspected our property on 24/5/98 my husbands friend cought sight of a human type form in his periferable vision. We live only a short distance from edinboragh base and gliding club. How did you feel?: intrigued More Info: Although it looked to be very far away the size of the light was as big as the santos building. Blue light sign and more intense even though that it is much closer for a few seconds there was an orange light that gave me the impresion of a water funnel going from the Earth up to the light but not right up to it - then when I looked back the orange glow was not there but the white light was still there. After a few minuites we could not explain it and started to walk around 10 metres to look without the tree in our way and better locate it. As we did this it faded out. First we thought it was blocked out by a branch but it had just vanished!. |

What attracted attention: Father in law noticed it out side, How it disappeared: Flicked out of view in to light mist How did you feel?: curious More Info: (1) 2 objects about 1 min apart. They took 5min to pass over and out of sight. About 5min later one was noted at point of dissaperance coming back out but turned back and dissapeared same as before. While 1st object was directly overhead all of flame was still visable. Could see something larger above turning anticlockwise, but irregular in shape. Too indefinable to describe, just a blacker thin light misty sky around it. Couldn't see it after it had passed. (2) 40min later father in law called us outside again because another one was passing over, slightly south of our position. About 1 min before passing out of view something small and orange dropped from side of flame and dissapeared about quarter of way to ground, no noise. |

And dissapeared into the distance about 45 degress after being visable for 5 min just before dissapearing something dropped from the object, I did not see this, However I had seen this 12 months before about 6:30 pm same night another Identical light appeared in the south and dissapeared in the NW. |

The plane came in to view right in front of these objects and heading straight for them. For a second we thought that he would go around them but he went through the middle of them. For the next few seconds we couldn't see or hear the plane though we could still hear the plane and saw it as it came out the other end. The object then moved off towards the east the 4 in front came in two pairs number 5 cought up. |

What attracted attention: my brother, How it disappeared: either dissapeared or it went behind the clouds. How did you feel?: unaffected More Info: My brother and I were outside his house talking when he looked up behind me in to the sky and said "what the hell is that" I turned around and noticed 5 lights traveling slowly from NE to NW. I realised straight away that it was not a plane as there were no flashing lights I then called out to my mum and dad and they came outside and so did my nephew. After a few minuites I noticed a plane traveling NE and I thought it would collide with the 5th object. It seemed intent on not getting out of the way and it looked like the plane actually dropped to avoid collision. The 5 objects continued to travel NW and then they just dissapeared. This took 5 - 10 min from the time we first saw them to when they dissapeared. The next day I felt quite proud and privliged to have seen something out of the ordinary. |

What attracted attention: movement of object was fast, How it disappeared: passed out of my sight How did you feel?: at first worried More Info: My first reaction was this large object without an airways clearence I checked with ATC. No other aircrafts then I become curious so did my friend from Germany Gabriel. The object became larger as time went on and futher check with ATC no aircraft I decided This could be life threatning situation and guided my aircraft through the group of lights. As the lights approached I hoped this not a large object because I would hit it. Some reason I gambled against my better judgement and won. We looked at each other with our mouths wide open, Relived and excited. |

It was very bright. It changed shape a little by getting longer slightly downwards. Then it moved back and fourth a bit and a strange light which was brighter than the object surrounded the object to give a holo effect. Then the holo light dissapeared, it moved a bit more then dissapeare. Knowing how large the object was is hard to say because were not sure how far away we were viewing it from also the object did complatly dissapear for a brief second and then reappeared. |

What attracted attention: a sound simmilar to a car door closing, How it disappeared: lightor lights went out with a flash of blue light How did you feel?: Extremly cautious - Eerie conditions More Info: at 9:00 in the evening of 23/7/98 both my wife and I heard a noise simmilar to a car door closing. The wife went to the front room and departed meeting details to the below of met. She does the weather details outside even before I looked to the skies an eerie feeling came over me and not a single sound could be heard not even from the dogs or birds in the trees within the fences of our yard. I sighted not one star in the sky I felt uneasy so I walked away from the back gates. NORTH side of yard and moved to the mist side of the fence. I stood there for a few seconds then a blue flash of light passed over myself and the house this flash was accompanied with a loud rush of air. Quickly saw to the centre of the yard because a building hid the area to what had moved and looked due North and sighted the object no stars made this quite visable for all to see. Did not sight any object nor any light pass over me - only the blue flash. Yet in the air some 500m away some 500 - 700m in the sir was this object. So I watched I was shouting out for my wife. When a couple of minuites passed by a place no wife I now to the back door banging and shouting out so I back to the centre of the yard and the object was still visable in the same spot when the wife appeared at the door I was about to come out from under shade area to sight it it dissapeared as quickly as it appeared. The light went out and all I seen was the blue flash and heard a rush of air over the corner of the yard heading SE the wife did not see or hear anything. |

Sometime after passing dublin on the pt wakefield road I noticed a formation on stars that looked loke a holoscope constilation. My first thought was there big stars then I noticed that the clouds were behind the stars and as I drove towards them I seemed to be getting closer to them. I woke my daughter who was asleep in the back of my van and asked her to look at the stars she thought they were to big to be stars so we pulled over to the side of the road to get a better look and saw they started to move. I drove 700m ahead to where a nother car was parked on the road. I parked in front of it and as we watch ed another car pull over we saw the stars start to move slowly for 10min then one by one the stars blinked a few times then went out like a light. |

Moving SW at first we thought it was a boat but it seemed to move at about 40 - 50 knots which was quite fast for a boat at this time of morning, then we saw it had one green, red, orange and white light at this point it was stationary straight in front of us and we could see red, green light clearly the red light was on out right hand side and the green on the other but higher then the red as if it was lop sided as a deep fisherman I knew of navigation and new port. |

It wasn't until I looked closely that I realised I was viewing something else. Although apearing to travel around the same speed as a plane there was no light and the craft travelled in different directions. It confused my sence of vision by appearing far away then much closer litteraly within the same second. I felt compelled to watch it until it driffted lower in to the distance. What attracted attention: a broad band streak of light, How it disappeared: both dissapered light was on then off How did you feel?: intruiged More Info: Brief outline of what occurred / I saw the broad band of light traveling very fast from the NE to approx SW. my initial thought was that it was a shooting star but the band of light was to thick approx between the thickning of a pen and your thumb and an out streached arm. The streak of light was very bright and lasted approx 4 sec, my line of sight was interupted by the tree. The light was not visable after that. The second light occurred approx 5 min later. What appeared to be a star shaped bright light appeared in the sky. It then dropped down for 2 -3 sec then went out it was approx 2-3000 ft above the ground when it went out. There was no tail of noise associated with this. |

But then realised it was not aircraft landing lights due to it being bright orange colour. It sloely passed straight over head over house and the lights were still as bright. Again /landing lights shon straight ahead not down. So got binocolars and went up stairs to our balcony accompanied by wife and through binocolars could see closer view of the object. It took approx 10 - 12min from first seeing it till it slowely dissapeared out of sight thoards SW. P.S I have spent a lot of time in aircrafts aver the past 30 years and I know a plane of helicopter etc when I see or hear them. |

However the lights appeared to shine down on the top of the cloud cover which was light and scattered. To start off with gradually thickened over the 40 mins. The rotation was pendulem like from the huh backwards and forwards. |

Use of 16x50 binoculars seemed to eliminate red pulse suggesting to me that pulsing was possibly due to atmosphere to traverse the horison slowly rising as the went more east. The behaviour of the objects indicated that the rear objects lost speed and height. The leading object also appeared to climb, then return ti its origional postiton. |
